Question

I have a question.

My question is: if I took a real photograph with an older camera, so it's not many pixels. And I put it in Topaz AI to make it bigger. Do I put that up as a photograph, or do I label it as AI, even though it is a photograph?

Upscaling isn’t GenAI.  But it’s a mixed bag of tricks.  A low-resolution image that’s upscaled too aggressively may result in something worse than what you started with.  Adjust exposure, sharpness, and any other defects first. Then make a few test runs to see where you land.

    Good luck.

It’s still a photograph. Upscaling and generative expand generally do not count as AI.

Good to know because I have a library of thousands of pictures from all over the world.

You’ll have to inspect them very carefully after “upscaling”, as that process can introduce unwanted artifacts.
