I just got a photo of a candle flame with a dark background approved, however the exact same photo with text message was rejected for Quality issues. Why is this?

My image of a candle and dark background was approved immediately, however a following image with the same photo with added text was rejected for Quality issues. Why is this? Im very puzzled. See screenshot of the rejected file. Appreciate any insights on this, thank you.

It’s safe to say there are no hard and fast rules, and a lot can depend on the moderator making the call. But regularly submitting one asset without text, and another with, could be construed as spamming. 99% of the time, it’s best to leave text off. Remember that Adobe Stock customers are from countries around the world, and English isn’t necessarily their primary language. Let the buyer add the text if they want any text at all.

Read your Contributor User Guide again to be sure you understand all that’s required.

    1. Spamming the system with the same content is a violation of the TERMS you agreed to. Your account can be deactivated for it.
    2. Unless text is crucial to the asset (yours is not), remove it. Customers will add their own fonts, languages & messages after purchase.
    3. Stock already has over 25 million candles & flames.

Find something else to contribute that isn’t overrepresented already.

    Good luck.

The candle is not in sharp focus. Omit text - designers can add their own text easily,

The candle is sharp, maybe not obvious from my screen shot. Version without text was approved. I just noticed that I had a previous image and video with added text and both were approved a few months ago, was there a change in the rules about this recently ?

Adobe Community Expert | If you aren't submitting your assets in sRGB, you probably didn't read the rules.

They would be considered too similar, since buyers will want to add their own copy in any case. It’s best to leave text off in the vast majority of cases.

Clients put their own text in. I don't think Adobe wants pictures with text.
