Hello experinced members,

When I process, am I supposed to leave naturtal flaws or make the image "flawless" and "pristine". I'm talking about things like scratched paint on an object or a scar of some kind on a living thing. Thanks again!

I don't aim for perfection, but I do remove distracting objects, such as bits of trash, a garbage can, a tree branch intruding into a scene, lens spots and sensor spots in the sky, etc. The edits must be undetectable to the Moderator - no clone patterns or smudges.

Sorry, I do not understand your question. You are hijacking this perfectly answered thread with an unrelated picture of a smiling boy, and a brief message. The picture is unfit for stock, if that is your question.

Hi @ImaRetiredTeacher ,

Except for IP related elements you may choose to leave or remove an imperfection. Most of my files are as shot. While shooting I try to avoid what will cause blur and to get the best frame. All other elements except IP related I allow to remain for more than 90% of my files.

Here is a list of what you must pay attention to.

Best wishes

Jacquelin

That's up to you to decide. You need to give the subject the look you want it to have. Sometimes it's good to clean up, sometimes it's good to add drama.

However, whatever you decide to do, the picture needs to keep a natural look. So if you delete a scar, you should not see that it has been edited out. I have no picture here that is as shot. Most have easy going adjustments, but sometimes, I delete an object out of the view, if it disturbs my esthetic feelings. Sometimes you need to edit objects out, because of IP reasons. Logos or typical design elements are often in the way to publish on stock.
