Image rejected due to quality issues

Hi everyone,

I uploaded a photo of a pigeon below and it was rejected due to a quality issues.

Honestly, I don't know what the problem is as it has a sufficiently high resolution, sharp, low noise (ISO 800), subject is in focus and I think it is bright enough (maybe will try to boost it up a bit more).

What do you think?

I disagree. The feathers are full of colour noise.

(screenshot at 200%). For me, ISO 800 is not exactly low ISO. But the noise reaction depends on the sensor, and the post-processing.

Furthermore, even that the sharpness is probably OK, it's not great.

Checking the histogram shows that the exposure is not great, neither.

Cropping could be effectively better:

It's also worthwhile noting that there are already more than 328,000 images tagged with "pigeon" in the database so it's unlikely that yours would ever get noticed or sold. Look for more unique subjects for potential stock sales!

Kia ora,

The main problem you have despite what you've mentioned is the background:

You could also add a little more punch to the photo; contrast is lacking. Another category could well be - 'lack of aesthetic appeal'.

The composition could be a lot better. This is rather a snapshot!

Hi @Filip22389944peh2 ,

It appears to have grain noise.

Best wishes

A better background and tighter cropping might help this composition.  There's no wow factor.

Zoom in to 100% + and you'll see that the focus on the eye and head is soft.
