Question

Is a picture of termite damaged wood too common a category? I submitted one and it got rejected due to "similar content"...Scracthing my head a bit here because I don't understand the threshold for a picture to be too similar to the rest.

Maybe Stock doesn’t get much demand for this niche subject. It’s specific to pest control and home inspection/repair sectors.

This is what you’re competing with in Stock:

    https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=termite  55K results

    https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=termite+damage 12.7K results

    https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=home+termite+damage 6.8K results

    Hope that helps.

A search for termite damage resulted in only about 12,000+ images so no, I wouldn’t consider that “similar content.” Similar content (we highly suspect) is determined by image descriptions and keywords. You might try waiting awhile and resubmit with carefully ordered and unique keywords that still pertain to the subject. Similar content issues have frustrated a lot of contributors for nearly a year (I’m amassed 546 to date), so it can be frustrating. Especially when assets that I felt certain would be rejected for similar content were in fact accepted.
