There seem to be an issue that turn up similar refusals when there is no similar. Make sure you had no other image like that in your profile. Make your caption more descriptive of what you’re submitting and try again. Discard it if it is refused a second time.
A search for termite damage resulted in only about 12,000+ images so no, I wouldn’t consider that “similar content.” Similar content (we highly suspect) is determined by image descriptions and keywords. You might try waiting awhile and resubmit with carefully ordered and unique keywords that still pertain to the subject. Similar content issues have frustrated a lot of contributors for nearly a year (I’m amassed 546 to date), so it can be frustrating. Especially when assets that I felt certain would be rejected for similar content were in fact accepted.
