Question

Is the great AI art experiment over?

After a few thousand images accepted, my entire batch from 2 days ago was rejected for unspecified "quality issues," even though there's no difference between these and earlier images. Is this just another "accidental" rejection, or something different?

I had the same 35 not accepted and I think that was the whole batch, mostly just tagged quality issue, was a bit strange as I only get the occasional not accepted. They weren't any different in quality to others previously posted.

Without seeing a picture with the refusal reason, we can only speculate. Pictures that are in good quality get accepted.

Thanks. I assume it was a mistake. I resubmitted some and they were approved quickly.

Were your rejected AI submissions titled & keyworded as AI generated?  I ask because the recent AI guidelines may not have been in place when you first submitted.

In my experience, AI often gets things wrong.  We've seen some badly botched AI caused by synthesis errors.  Faults ranging from 5 legged horses to munged hands, legs, eyes, webbed feet, too many fingers/toes, partial artist signatures, etc...

Were your submissions high quality upscales with good details and crisp edges?  As @Jill_C  said, we would need to see the rejected full size image to comment further.

I am very aware of those things, and cull approximately 300-400 images for each I submit. There were no issues with fingers, toes, or other synthesis errors.

Turns out it was a mistake – I resubmitted one and it was accepted immediately so I will do the same with the others.

to be fair, i always expect 1 or 2 from a batch this large to be rejected, even if it's just for being derivative of others in the batch. but to have such a large batch rejected out of hand when the images were all varied (some AI, some not; some illustrations, some faux-photos) is just very weird and seems completely arbitrary, especially when a larger (and not as good) batch was 100% approved a day earlier.

Given the poor quality of some of the AI junk we've seen posted here for feedback, I'd say there is some chance that Moderators are sick of looking at it and perhaps not being very discriminate! But that's just my uneducated guess😉

That's very possible! Here are the rejected files. Some are photos, some AI, some 50/50, others AI made from my originals, etc. https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/9d696d5303a740138a43d83574a169a8

If you upload a few samples here, the community members will review and provide feedback. Every rejected AI image we've seen here has obvious issues.
