Question

IT IS WHAT IT IS

I just had 19 photos rejected under "quality issues" all shot with my GFX100 (102mp) 23mm lens

After decades working as a pro, I'm having lots of fun with a camera always near me, but I will not let all the time shooting stock go to waste.

I'm not going to resubmit my rejections... despite in the past nearly always working out and having rejected photos accepted sometimes on the 4th try.

It's Adobe's loss as far as I'm concerned... I lifted my exclusive Adobestock only policy, and now will be uploading my entire library and everything I create to Getty Images as well, who takes too long to accept, but my only disputes with them is for unrecognizable locations that they say require releases, and accept everything Adobe rejects.

Have a Great Day!

Did you compare with other e-scooters in Adobe Stock?  I think this topic has lots of potential for sale, but it needs something more.  A story or some Wow factor to make it pop.

I think Adobe is picker than most when it comes to opening up shadows and dropping the highlights.

Danielle, I've been shooting professionally my entire adult life, and often after I have delivered work for clients, I see something more I could have done.

WhenI shoot for Adobe I put the same time as I due for clients, my photos get my full love and attention...

It's okay if we disagree... I don't take this personally, but frankly 19 images rejected is an insult to any pro, and hurts everyone involved including experienced contributors like yourself.

Thanks for taking the time to write

Read your Getty Images contract carefully. My contract requires exclusivity, so I'm currently submitting to Getty only those that are rejected by Adobe. So far, Getty has accepted all of them.

Getty images offers contracts, and even pay to go shoot stock for them. Thats not my case,

they accept all my work without any exclusivity. And that is not something I will entertain, unless the commisions make it worth the exclusivity.

Thanks Jill, I appreciate taking the time to reply

Hello,

I don't think that these shots have a lot of commercial value. What was the aim of submitting these?

From a photographic point of view, I see that you were showing very strong lines (which I like)—that's what I notice—from a commercial point of view, I wonder.

You have a very good camera, but that doesn't mean all shots will be accepted by Adobe.

Ricky, thanks for taking the time to reply. Electric commercial scooters are a maintream mode of transportation in any major city, and have value.

I've sold photos that you would never believe had a comercial value. The main point is that the photo was rejected for quality issues, and that is irrelevant of what camera I used, the quality issues reason is... absurd.

Sorry to see you go. I think you could develop your photography with us. Personaly, I saw no commercial value in the first two photos so I did not review them.

Your second photo has some quality errors that make your photo unusable for a commercial use.
Look at the histogram. It shows a large number of pixels are overexposed and the clipping indicators (those two triangles at the top) are on, which indicates you have no details in parts of the shadows and highlights. There is also a spot the the upper left that needs to be removed. I brelieve it is a partial manhole cover. You also have a IP violation because the numbers of the scooters are vissible. So, as you see, it is correct that this photo was rejected and your photography skill can be improved on. You can decide what you do.

Thanks for your opinion Ralph, it's not an opinion that there's no branding or IP violation information seen, and even if there was, that does not fall under "quality issues"

I already spend a lot of time editing my photos, as much as I do for real jobs.

Your dark area or shaddows observation has validity, but not for rejection, that is my professional opinion. At the end of the day, I think there are image editor/screeners that aren't consistent, suffer from mental fatigue, or simply are bored with the monotony of thier job, the fact remains that I submitted 19 images, and that this person refused all 19... it's absurd and destructive for everyone.

Btw, I did not say I'm leaving Adobe stock, I simply lifted my self imposed exclusivity

with them. From now on I will submit everything to both agencies, and let the market place decide.

Cheers!
