I have an AI generated image of a person in watercolor painting. So, no photo. Do I need a model release for this? When is one needed and when not?

It depends on how recognizable the person is, and whether it's a fictional person or a real person.  An abstract illustration of a fictitious person would most likely be fine with a property release, a detailed illustration of a real person probably needs a model release.  It's detailed here in the AI submission guidelines
