More rejections than usual

Generally speaking it seems more images are being rejected than in the past. This seems especially true of png files. Anyone agree or disagree?

If you're doing photography and your rejection rate suddenly increases, it could mean your equipment needs professional cleaning.

Show us an example of full-sized .png file that was rejected and tell us what the rejection reason was.

Do you have a better success rate with .jpg, .ai, .eps or .svg?

With the possible exception of Generative AI, I think the quality of work that contributors are submitting today is higher than it was a few years ago.  Partly because they're using better cameras and image software. But also because their skills have improved.

Thank you Nancy for your response. I am not so interested in my problem with specific rejected images, I am interested in knowing if increased rejections are a trend. I also find images are rejected at a higher rate when submitted in large groups of 30-50 images. It's as if the reviewer just wants to get them rejected as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next person's submissions.

I am an illustrator and have attached one of my images recently rejected for "quality issues".

In answer to your question, and this might be of interst to everyone, PNG files make up about 3-percent of my portfolio and in the past few weeks they are generating 30 percent of my sales.

So in summary, I am just wondering if people are seeing an increase rate of rejections lately.

I see nothing technically wrong with your image.  But as you say, it was submitted in a sizable batch with other images.  Were the other images of similar style & subject or were they all very different?

I disagree. There is a higher rejection rate for generative AI as Adobe gets used to check that one correctly. but for the rest, no. No higher rejection rate.

PNG files are only just accepted, and bring fresh challenges.

I haven't submitted a ton in the last 90 days, but all of mine have been accepted recently.

As always, feel free to post files for review if you'd like.  Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help better understand the reasons if they are unclear.

I don't submit PNG files, but am still regularly getting 95%+ of my images accepted.
