My Adobe Stock Contributor account was suddenly deactivated for “suspicious activity” has this happened to anyone else?
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from other Adobe Stock Contributors who may have experienced something similar.
I have been an Adobe Stock Contributor since 2018 and currently have approximately 8,000 assets in my portfolio, most of them videos.
My account was suddenly deactivated today for “suspicious activity.” I received the email from Adobe at 5:07 AM local time here in Brazil. I was asleep at the time and had not logged into or used my account.
I had not uploaded anything for approximately one month. During this period, I was only occasionally logging in to check my earnings. Everything had been completely normal with my account and sales.
I had approximately US$83 in my account, and I was expecting a payment soon. Now I have completely lost access to my portfolio, sales history, and earnings information.
I have absolutely no idea what the “suspicious activity” refers to. I have never purchased my own content, asked anyone to purchase or download my content, or intentionally participated in any activity designed to manipulate sales or downloads.
I also submitted AI-generated/AI-assisted content recently, but I followed Adobe's requirements and properly marked the content as AI-generated or AI-edited when submitting it.
Interestingly, at around 9:00 AM, I received a sales report email from Adobe showing a sale involving one of my videos. The video is from my own city in Brazil, but I have no idea who purchased it or when the actual transaction occurred. Since my account is now deactivated, I cannot check the transaction details or see whether there were any other sales around the time of the deactivation.
If this was related to an unusual or fraudulent purchase/download made by someone else, I honestly would not know about it. As Contributors, we don't control who purchases or licenses our content, and I certainly did not participate in any such activity.
I have already contacted Adobe Contributor Relations and submitted an appeal. I received a case number, but I have not received an explanation of what actually happened yet.
Has anyone here experienced a similar situation recently?
Did Adobe eventually explain what caused the deactivation? Was it related to unusual sales activity, fraudulent purchases, or something else? And, most importantly, were you able to get your account and portfolio restored?
I have depended on my Adobe Stock income for years, so this situation is extremely concerning for me. I have worked on this portfolio since 2018, and I really hope this is a mistake or something that can be resolved through an investigation.
Any advice or experience from other Contributors would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
