Question

My illustration was declined for quality reasons

I usually create drawings using oil, watercolor, gouache, and pencil brushes to add texture to my artwork. However, my submissions are often rejected due to quality issues. What can I do to get them accepted? Even when I add solid lines around the edges, they still get rejected. And does submitting them as transparent PNGs without a background also lead to rejection?

    I would submit paintings as JPEGs, not cut-outs on PNGs.

    Drawings & sketches should be manually retraced & cleaned up in Illustrator. Then submit vector drawings in AI, EPS or SVG file types. Vector graphics are flexible to use and have higher line quality than pixel-based raster images.  For more details, read the 7-part section on Vector Requirements starting here:

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you for the information. I will try uploading it as a JPEG and hopefully it will get accepted.

    @MeganArt

    The lines are broken.

    You need sold defined edges

    The edge should be sharp as though you’d taken a phtograph.

    Thank you for pointing it out. I thought it only needed a solid line on the outside edges, but turns out I need to add a solid line on the inside as well.

    I like these, but I think they might be considered a little too “primitive” for Adobe Stock. The rough edges, which I assume are very apparent in the png versions, will always lead to a quality rejection.

    I tried adding a solid line around the edges, as you can see on the third and fourth images, but it still got rejected

    Then yes. Too primitive and oversimplified. They probably need a more finished look, as opposed to rough sketches.
