Hello, can anyone help guide me on the reasons  these photos are rejected from contributing and what can be improved in future.

Underexposed, as already noted, and so much so that I don't think they are salvageable, at least not easily. Attempts to correct introduce other issues while still remaining dark.

If it were me, I'd focus on the eyes of insects and animals.

Check it at 100% and omit anything that is shaky or out of focus from the selection.

Correct. The eyes need to be crisp sharp.

They are all too dark. The first two also have overexposed highlights. The first photo has some "movement" around the head.
