Hi,

New contributor just finding my way. I've just had a scan of an illustration rejected and wondered in anyone can help. It just says it failed for technical issues - but no more info than that.

Any help thoughts much appreciated

Hi @SySqfilms ,

The finish is a bit tacky. For example, the double line below the knee

Lines are broken and edges not smooth.

Best wishes

@SySqfilms Is this your original illustration or perhaps a public-domain image that you are recycling as stock? If the latter, what is the original source of the art? If it is your drawing, when viewed at 100 percent, there are too many artifacts from the paper or source document and the lines are not sharp. You might try a clean-up and conversion to line art as a vector file in Illustrator.

It seems to be lacking in contrast and sharpness, and there are numerous spots throughout the image, either from the original print or your scanner bed; however, if it had not been rejected based on technical issues it might have been rejected as an IP violation - unless you're the artist and provided a property release when you uploaded it.

Thanks that makes sense. I hadn't wanted to over process the image, so left it muted. Will sharpen and tidy and resubmit. Thanks

Hi, Just bumping this as it looks like a lot of people are asking the same thing. This is an BW Illustration, so it doesn't have same issues as the other threads of rejection I see. Any thoughts?
