Photo denied.

This Photo is denied because of quality issues.... can someone help me out where the problem is? BTW this Stamp is older than 100 Years. So I don't think there are copyright Issues - or could that be another problem?

so wirkliche Mängel kann ich bei der Aufnahme nicht finden.

Wenn Dir die Aufnahme wichtig ist, versuch doch mal den Poststempel auf dem Weißen zu entfernen und reiche das Bild noch mal ein.

Ich würde auch den roten Hintergrund entfernen. Ob der Poststempel wirklich der Mangel ist, der hier ausschlaggebend war, ist eher unsicher.

I don't see any quality problem, apart from what @Test Screen Name mentioned. The postmark could just make the stamp unusable for commercial purposes. So, this might be a refusal reason!

I'm not sure about the copyright issue. I see a considerable chance, that this would get a final refusal on IP basis. But copyright is not a quality refusal.

I would guess that the uneven lightning triggered the quality issue. Or the less than perfect print.

If the response is "quality issues" they are not looking at age or copyright. Of course they might do that later if you fix the quality. I suspect they are looking at this as a piece of art, not a piece of history. If you zoom into 100% the printing is crude and there is an ugly purple mark (yes, the postmark). The image is not perfect, nor can any old stamp be perfect.

Even without blowing this image up to 100%, there is considerable noise evident and it does not have the crisp, sharp and noise free image that one expects of a carefully setup macro image, You mentioned having shot it with a cell phone and that would explain the lack of crispness and the noise. Cell phones simply cannot compete with a DSLR mounted with a macro lens and clamped down in a sturdy copy stand or tripod. with properly arranged lighting.

I don't see that noise, but I see crisp sharp the paper structure, suggesting to me, that the quality of the picture is great.
