This photo with a frozen branch and another thats similar are more meant to be "abstract" so im just wondering why they were rejected. Thanks.

If you zoom in to 100%+ you'll see that the frosty branch is not actually in sharp focus. Otherwise, it's a pretty image, and I really like the bokeh background.
