You have to understand what the market wants. The market is fickle; it’s like a living organism. It changes from day to day. Feed the market what it is asking for. Don’t waste your time on pet photos, flowers, sunsets, holiday type photos, food photos - unless it is very well executed and so on...

It could be a long time or right away. It depends on what you’re selling and if there’s much demand for it.

If you’re new to Stock, be patient and work on building a diverse portfolio. 

There’s no particular time frame for sales to start accruing; it’s entirely dependent on the quality, quantity, type, genre and competition for your images. Search in stock.adobe.com using some of the keywords for some of your images, and you’ll be able to get an idea of how much competition you have.

Submit high quality, in-demand assets of a variety of subjects. I know that’s a very general answer but it’s a bit of a general question without seeing some of you actual work. How long you will wait for your first sale is an unknown. A week? 6 months? Again, it goes back to submitting material that is in demand, in addition to how many assets are in your portfolio. Some contributors start seeing regular sales with as few as 500-1000 assets.
