Hello,

Your photo got rejected due to the following reasons:

  • Focus - you need to have more of the flower in focus.
  • Exposure - the flower needs to be brighter. At present the photo is too dark.
  • Composition - the background with the two brown 'stems' is distracting; you need a clean background.

In addition to the other issues mentioned, I suspect the color of these flowers may well have been white and not yellow.

Wow this looks so much better.

Is it recommended to process an image before submitting?

I have recently started photography as a hobby and I am loving it. But I don't know what's the standard practice on such platforms.

99.9% of every AI asset requires editing. I point out a number of issues, but even just one would result in a refusal. Photographers edit their images as well, but rarely to the extent that AI results need editing.

Very little is in focus. Depth of field is much too shallow.
