PNG Format Not Accepted on Adobe Stock

Hello everyone,

I have been uploading images to Adobe Stock and noticed that my JPG format images are getting accepted without any issues. However, when I try to upload PNG images with a transparent background, they are being rejected.

I have also tried removing the background and re-uploading, but still, PNG format is not getting accepted. Is there any specific requirement for PNG files on Adobe Stock? Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I have an image that I want to upload in JPEG format, but I also want to upload the same image with the background removed in PNG format. If I upload both versions with the same title, will that be acceptable according to Adobe Stock's guidelines, or would it be considered spam?

You can only upload the PNG file. PNG files will also be offered as JPEG files.

If you upload both, JPEG and PNG, one of those will be considered as a duplicate. If you do that often, you will risk banning for spamming the database.

I suppose that the most frequent reason for rejection of transparencies is edge cutout issues. Since this one was already accepted in jpg format, a bit of cleanup on the edges should ensure its acceptance.

But also note: Submitting the same asset as PNG and as JPEG is spamming! Spamming the database will eventually get you banned.

Look at your cutouts against a black background. Proper cutouts can only be done bye hand, not by automated background removal tools or apps.

I’ve been uploading 3D illustrations in PNG format on Adobe Stock, but most of them are getting rejected even after properly fixing background issues. For example, if I upload 10 PNG images, about 8 get rejected, but the same AI-generated images in JPG format get accepted without any problems.

I’ve already ensured that:
✅ The background is properly removed.
✅ There are no visible artifacts or edges.
✅ The resolution and quality meet Adobe Stock’s standards.

Even after following these steps, PNG files are still getting rejected. Is there any specific requirement for PNG 3D illustrations that I might be missing?

If anyone has successfully submitted PNG files, please share the correct guidelines or best practices. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can't submit the same assets as PNG and JPEG. That's spamming.

The resolution is not a quality property. If you get a refusal for quality issues, chances are that there are quality issues.

There are no specific guidelines. You need to correctly remove the background, which normally involves some precision manual work. Generative AI creators very often forget the manual steps for a successful stock submission.
