Print on demand combined with stock photography

Hi,

I am looking for advice for an idea to put my print on demand designs and sticker designs also on stock sites. I mean is there anyone that does the same and see some sales of designs on stock photo also? DO ypu guys see any downside of that?

I see it as a additional market place in where my designs can sell, but perhaps there is some "elephant in the room" that I don't see and maybe this idea is wrong?

Adobe Stock partners with other sellers & platforms, some of them offer POD services.

When the seller's customer places an order for your asset, you receive a royalty fee from Adobe Stock.

I dont understand. Do you already sell your designs for "print on demand" and want to additionaly sell as stock? If so, the answer is go ahead.

Exactly, I was thinking there are maybe some downsides of that that I don't notice but at the first glance

The downside is for the buyer, who would need to find a service on their own to create the stickers, t-shirts, whatever, all at the additional expense of their time and money.

That's what I thought and perhaps it is not even worth uploading to stocks because this is just not the product for this market, but I was hoping there was maybe someone experienced who could confirm to me that POD designs and stickers have some potential in stocks market?

I have seen examples of designs where the contributor includes a mock-up of a t-shirt as a suggested use for the design. But I have no idea if they sell well or not.
