One thing which stands out is your composition. It could do with some work.

Also, problems with focus and exposure.

Poorly composed. I don't think the cake is in focus either, but the whole image is rather underexposed, so it's hard to tell.

Underexposed shadows, some overexposed highlights, strange object in mouth and on nose. Also, needs sharpening.
