Question

"Quality Issue" with my submission

I have a few of pictures that are labeled as "Quality issues". Some I understand that could be that, but a few of unusual artistic sort of pictures were rejected as well but some are still considering others that are similar.

None of my pictures / photos has been modified or AI generated. I have actually taken them with my DSLR with my technic.

So, my questions is, I guess, how the photos are determined if it is artistic or not? So I could maybe create more according to those standards. Thank in advance!

Stock customers want highest visual & technical quality to use in commercial ads and projects -- print, digital & merchandise.

If you’re new to photography, enroll in some photography courses to learn fundamentals of composition, lighting, focus, color theory and camera technique. Stock is not about art as much as story telling.

Compare your best work with similar keywords in Stock inventory.  To get accepted, yours should be as good or better than what Stock is selling, and provide customers with a little something extra. For example, snow on steps. shoveling snow, shoveling snow for an elderly neighbor. The first is static. The second is dynamic. The third is dynamic & interactive.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

“So, my questions is, I guess, how the photos are determined if it is artistic or not?”

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

For stock, the photo has to be practical, showing a message, conveying a feeling etc. Stock is not an art gallery, but used for commercial purposes, so the photos should be rather cut and dried so to speak.

“So, my questions is, I guess, how the photos are determined if it is artistic or not?”

That’s a philosophical question that would result in a number of varying philosophical answers. Perhaps by “artistic” you mean what determines if an image has quality issues or not? You’re welcome to post a rejected image here for some more definitive feedback.
