The first image is oversaturated and not in sharp focus. The second image as a blownout featureless sky.

Regarding the Seagull: there are nearly 11 million submissions. Competing and being accepted is going to be super tough.

When taking photos, consider using a tripod and a remote. This will help stabilize your camera.

The wild birds look like they are overexposed.
Also, I’d like to get a closer shot.

The key features something resembling a manufacturer's name or logo.
It will be rejected due to IP issues.

Isn't the photo below underexposed?

The blue is over saturated in the image and the bird is out of focus. The image in the bottom image shows some degradation in the background and the green is oversaturated.
