Too much of your photos are out of focus due to shallow depth of field.

For the second photo, details are lost in the highlights. 

A point to note, you should avoid shooting into the sun. This can cause harm to you and/or your camera. Also, there is a special technique you need to implement when shooting in highlights that enhances the quality of your photos. You could research on this subject and practice it.

The DOF in both is too shallow, rendering most of the image out of focus. The first one also appears to have chroma noise in the background.

Did you add the star burst in the second one manually? Adobe doesn't like the use of specifal effects filters if so.
