Hi, would appreciate critique on a couple of photos I submitted that were not accepted. Thanks.

Quality isn't good when enlarged:

Loss of detail, and a halo around the head.

Was this taken with a smartphone?

The composition of the other photo could be better. Getting half a head, I don't think works very well. What do you want to show?

In the first photo the bird is poorly cropped and the shadows are too dark. Also, when viewed at 100%, it does not look real sharp.

202... is too tightly cropped. Should have been taken horizontally to include the bird's beak. The parakeet is out of focus. Lack of detail in the face.

Napping Parakeet Blue Sky.jpg - focus has fallen on the branches rather than the bird's head.

The other bird image is poorly composed, cutting off the beak and part of the head.
