Quality issues rejection

Hello everyone,

I got confused. At first my images which i believe to have similar quality or slightly less quality got accepted while my recent pictures with higher technical properties are getting rejected. I wanna show two samples so maybe someone can enlight me. If not i will be lost. I am new at this and i was believing that step by step i was getting better. But now i get more rejection than before.

Sample 1 is a landscape which is rejected a while ago. 8256 x 5504 - 1/250 sec - f8 - ISO 100

Samole 2 is a rejected food image 7562 x 5115 - 1/30 sec - f4 - ISO 560

The first image has a white balance issue. It has a slight aqua-blue tint. The highlights might be a little too high also. The other image is under exposed.

The first image has a seriously leaning horizon and the white balance is too blue - look at the white buildings which have a blue-ish tinge.

The pasta dish is quite underexposed and is not in sharp focus.

Image quality is much more than just pixel count resolution. There are many other aspects or quality, including, but not limited to exposure, white balance, noise, artifacts, composition, and focus.

In the landscape image, your horizon line is severely slanted. The second image is underexposed and the composition is weak.

The coast is over saturated and the pasta dish is way too dark and unappetizing. I can't make the image good enough - too much sauce - but something like this.

Oleschwander Thanks a lot for your comment. But the coast has a +2 saturation value in Lightroom. Thats almost nothing. The coast itself is like this.

The costal image has a white balance issue and an exposure issue. The saturation is OK.

The plate is underexposed. If you want to do food photography, you will need to learn about composition. This looks like a quick and dirty snapshot of a delecious menu, without trying to make the viewer hungry.

Seen at 100%, you have a serious focussing issue:
