Check your histogram.

There are no whites and you have strange peaks. I never saw such peaks in a natural picture.

 

I also think that you have taken out most of the saturation.

I think, it's sharp, so with the correct adjustment, it could pass.

It's underexposed. Did you convert the background to black & white? Such conversions are not accepted by Adobe.
