Would like some feedback on why these images were rejected. Thanks! Appreciate it.

#1: Focusing or camera shake

#2 Focusing, or depth of field too shallow

#3 Depth of field too shallow. I understand the creative concept, but the depth of field might have been a little TOO shallow.

Hi @Jerry_art5FC4 ,

You went in too close to create the first photo, hence shallow depth of field.

The second photo is not completely in focus. Too much of a shallow depth of field.

The screw head is not completely in focus and the other blur screws are distracting. You should have removed them.

Best wishes

Jacquelin

For that and such a subject, I would guess that focus stacking would be the answer.

Z63_0220 (1).jpg Since the object, whatever it is, is parallel to the plane of view, the entire object should be in sharp focus.

It is a crocodile clamp, as it is used variously to hold smaller parts in position.

I see so in images like these a larger depth of field may be more favorable?

Thanks appreciate the feedback!

Sure.

Especially the second picture is a failure in that sense. But it also has an issue with the image's message. I could see, why you buy an image like the first and the third, if better executed, but I can't imagine why someone should buy the second one.
