Nail polish color should not clash with lipstick color. That's a pet peeve of mine.  If a suitable color isn't available, nude (natural) nails are better.

For your second: did you partially edit the background of the picture?  You need to correct this:

And then there is this white border around the cloth. That's not natural or related to over sharpening.

You should also address the noise in the background.

As of the first, I can only speculate that the blown out background could be a problem. Portraits against a very light background need a lot of light on the subject, to counter that situation.
