reject for intellectual property

Hi and greetings to all!! I recently retired (and moved) and am getting to sort through photos, as well as starting new photo adventures (with old equipment and computers) and resume some contributing to Adobe.

 

Two photos of the American and POW MIA flag were rejected for intellectual property violation.

When I  search American flag I get "455,740 results for american flag in all"

When I search POW MIA flag I get " 154 results for POW MIA flag in all" which is very few.

 

I have searched online and cannot find any intellectual property protection for the POW MIA flag.

I found this from the history of the POW MIA flag:

"The National League of POW/MIA Families made a conscious decision to not place any intellectual property protection around the design, allowing it to have widespread use."

 

I do completely understand the POW MIA flag is also the center of some controversy.  Should I resubmit as editorial?

 

(I did not attach a photo as the subject is self explanatory)

    I did find two additional seemingly contradictory statements regarding the POW MIA flag. I am attaching the screenshots. I also reached out via email to the National League of POW MIA Families for clarification.

      I perused this forum in the past looking for answers, but never felt comfortable joining!

       

      I decided to join today because I couldn't find a relevant answer in the Adobe knowledge base. 

       

      I have submitted both property and model releases, but am a long way from "knowledgeable" on the subjects.
