Good afternoon, everyone. I'm new here. I'm submitting my photos to a stock photo site, but 50% of them are rejected due to poor quality. Can anyone help me with this issue? I take photos with a good camera. Here is one of the photos that was rejected, even though the quality is good.
In my opinion, take more care with your composition. For example, the "Close-uo of rustic..." is too 'messy'—too many distracting elements.
You can also take landscape-oriented photos with smartphone cameras. The portrait orientation is a dead giveaway that it was taken with a smartphone camera! This is where orientation also plays a role in composition!
Good afternoon. I took the photo with a camera, and it seemed to me that it would be better in portrait mode, as there would be even more distractions if I took it that way. Thank you for your comment. I will try to correct my mistakes. I am grateful that you took the time.
Close-up of rustic yellow gourd in vintage room with old piano and antique decor_SAP08322.jpg - cropped too close, DOF is too shallow and there are distracting items in the background (composition issues).
Autumn harvest still life with pumpkins in rustic wooden cart_SAP08197.jpg - very little is in focus - DOF is too shallow
Also, some or all of these should have been taken in landscape orientation rather than portrait to properly capture the scene.
Are you using a phone camera? If so, turn off automatic correction settings. They hurt you more than help you. It's best to correct RAW photos in post with Photoshop or Lightroom.
This is what you're competing with in Stock inventory.
Unfortunately you're late for this autumn seanon sales. Overall I like the style you're showing, which is a bit on the darker side and shallow depth of field. Personally I like it, but Adobe stock does not. In fact get ready for a lot of comments saying your photos are dark and not enough focus... I disagree, but will not argue you'd help your approval rating making photos a bit brighter and sharper. A tripod will solve that... also, I would shoot all themes in both horizontal and vertical formats.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your comment. I will try to correct my mistakes. Thank you for taking the time. I have been thinking about a tripod, I will look into it. Thank you for your advice.
