Question

Rejected Imaged

These 2 AI images were rejected. I understand they have a high DOF. But they were left unfiltered, the hands are anatomically correct so please give me your honest opinions as to why they were rejected. I waited about 6 weeks for this rejection.

Thanks for you help,

O

Count fingers.

1st image, the left hand has an elongated 5th digit which is weird. Looks more like an index finger than a pinky.

2nd image, left hand is missing a 5th digit.

AI is so strange with details.

Right hand is blurry.

Too little in focus, and the hands, though much better than the usual AI results, aren't quite right in proportion and orientation.

You surly didn't submit these pictures, and if you do not show us the original assets as submitted, do not expect us to give you a correct analysis. However, even at the reduced size, some artefacts are visible, so they should be enormous at the size submitted:

There is more, just look at the lit chips, or the keyboard.

And yes, the hands are quite good, but I think that the way they are shown is not anatomically correct:

a) twist

b) proportions

c) looks more like a pointing finger than the little one. And that has been broken at some time because it looks like a badly healed bone (at the tip of the arrow).

But I believe that they would have passed if the other errors were not so prominent.

(BTW: PNG files are only for assets with transparency).

As for the second image, you have the same artefacts. Here, also, I find that the hand has a weird position, and I think that the upper part of the hand is more like that of an ape: too long:

But I believe that the rejection reason here are also the very prominently visible artefacts.

As for the histograms, I suppose that you will need to address the black clipping in the second image.

Thank you for helping me. But what do you mean when you say visible artifacts?

When I zoom in on the details, I'm having a hard time finding anything in focus.  The resolution is also pretty small, so there is some aliasing around the edges (jagged edges) when you zoom in as well.

The histograms reflect underexposure on both.  I think they look good on a screen, but would appear dark when printing.

Good luck with your future submissions!
