It seems that there could be a bit more light in the shadows (its a little dark) and a bit more sharpness. The lighting appears uneven, I think photographing this in softer light conditions would have been better here.
The photo is dark, both on the histogram and to my eyes. The darker tones appear in the foreground as well, with brighter tones in the background. It should be the other way around in my opinion.
The composition isn't simple enough to be a background, nor is there a clearly defined subject.
Its a cool photo, but I don't think it hits the mark for a commercial asset.
Nothing I see in the photo really jumps out at me as being poorly done, but I was able to open up the shadows just a tad and I lowered the highlights in the middle, both using the Camera Raw Filter. Maybe it just ended up in the lap of a moderator who runs everything through the Camera Raw Filter and takes no prisoners even if only minor adjustments are required. I also added just a smidgeon of vignetting (and I mean JUST a smidgeon, nothing that could be interpreted as using it for a special effect). And while I'm sure the "sidewalk" is there in real life, I removed those "curbs" with the content aware tool. I'm not even going to bother uploading the changes I made because they are so subtle, I doubt they'd be noticed. But it's been a long, hot day here (112 heat index) and maybe someone else will notice something I'm missing.
