I had a lot of submissions rejected within a day of when I submitted them. Would anyone be able to help me figure out why they were rejected? Other similar photos were accepted.
They may be OK, or the moderator did not see the issues. Furthermore, there is a certain variance in this, as moderation is done by humans, and what is a clear refusal for someone in the morning, may be a narrow pass in the evening. It's not always easy, but the big majority of pictures that I saw were refused for reason.

(BTW: the clarity and texture will augment the local contrast so that the image appears sharper. That would correct some focussing issues, as mentioned by @Jill_C )
