Don't misunderstand the relationship you have with Adobe, we are independant suppliers of goods as contributors. Adobe is anticipating we are proficient photographers already and able to evaluate our own photos accordingly.
I agree with @Jill_C about both the sharpness being ok and the shadows being the probable rejection reason. I wonder how including the shadows in the photo made the photo better? I also think the colors look a bit washed out and the skin tones appear off to me.
Dont sweat rejections too much, I personally appreciate the opportunity a rejection gives me to better evaluate my next set of photos 🙂
