Rejection comment

Dear fellow contributors,

A little question about this rejection. I don't see where the problem might be... Had posted it originally at 6800 pixels wide, then 6250 and now 5000. I thought it was a slight noise problem, but at 5000 pixels it should be allright. Anyone finds out what the problem is?

Kind regards,

Sébastien

As has been said, the resolution does not need to be changed. The histogram is indeed strange, with that peak in the blacks and nothing else in the rest of the blacks and the shadows.

However, the major problem is noise, it's visible.

Your downsizing destroyed the antennas. I would love to see that at the original size.

You also have a white line at the black border, suggesting excessive sharpening.

Your silhouette is not clean. If you want a silhouette, you should edit out all detail, which is here more disturbing.

Hello,

Firstly, was it rejected due to quality issues?

Secondly, as it is a silhouette, and you have a strong outline, I think the exposure is fine; you have indeed got the silhouette of the volcano, so exposure isn't the issue.

(Detail in the foreground is unnecessary in this situation.)

Thirdly, the aerials are focused, so focusing is fine! Did you use a tripod for this shot? Handheld at 40sec, you're doing well!

So, I think noise could still be an issue. There are signs of some noise. Also, which may be of some serious consideration is the colour of the sky. This is not a natural sky colour, even though it was taken at sunset (?) Maybe reduce the intensity of the sky colour!

Hello Ricky,

The point was indeed to capture these amazing colours... As i live in front of this volcano, enough of other photographs with details of the forest on the volcano. So you're right about the desire of having only the silhouette. The antenna's are also hair sharp, taken with tripod... Maybe the intensity of the colours might be it, though almost no colour edition here, maybe +10 in saturation in Photoshop.

Thank you kindly for your comment!

Hello Sebastien,

I would not have so much saturation, but more vibrance. Vibrance is better to use to bring out the colours without going too intense.

Read this from Adobe about vibrance and saturation etc.

Vibrance adjustment layer (adobe.com)

Photographylife has a good explanation about the differences between the two.

Saturation or Vibrance? (photographylife.com)

Hi,

I also would say that the picture is to dark (underexposed) and when I look at 100% at the picture the lines are very blurry. Hope that helps.

In addition to what @Jill_C and @jacquelingphoto2017 already said, I believe the antennas are not focused.

Hi @SL-Photography81 ,

The photo is under exposed and details are lost in the shadows.

I suggest you go through the details of all the information found at the Stock Contributor Lean and Support, Learn how to Create Better Photos for Adobe Stock and tips on how and what to look for when creating and preparing your files for submission.

Best wishes

Jacquelin

Not sure why you're  downsizing the image. That isn't necessary to upload it to Adobe Stock. I suppose the rejection reason is underexposure, since there's no detail in the foreground.
