Hi,

This is my first post here

Recently i have many rejection of photos with quality issues.

I don't get it what is wrong with my photo's

For example

This is a version in lower resolution.

The photo has (a lot of) shade, but another photo in the same serie has also shade:

I don't see why this photo is constantly rejected.

How can i edit the photo, so that the photo would accepted?

Kia ora,

Well, one thing which is quite obvious is that the pictures are somewhat crooked. It's a bit like looking at a picture on a wall and it isn't quite straight!

So, you need to be careful with your composition. Another thing is exposure. The pictures are a bit washed out - rather too light,  no real depth to them, so add more contrast.

Both images have leaning verticals and the first has chromatic aberration.

Thanks for all the comments!

I see now that both photo's are crooked, I hadn't noticed
Time to learn from it.

The castle photo is not one of my best, but i thought it was good enough

If this castle is as crooked as it looks, it will soon collapse. Or it will go down in the history books as the leaning castle from somewhere. You should straighten your geometry.

You should always post the images here as you submitted them to Adobe Stock. Certain quality defects can only be seen at 100 %.

I know rejections are aren't fun and it can be challenging not to take them personally.  Have you tried comparing your photos to other similar photos?

https://stock.adobe.com/nl/search?load_type=search&is_recent_search=&search_type=usertyped&k=Doorwerth+medieval+castle&native_visual_search=&similar_content_id=

When I look through these, I find many photos without harsh shadows and with compositions that are pleasing to the eye.  Whether your photos are accepted or rejected, I think I would pick the other photos over yours.

I don't say this to be harsh but to shine some light on the realities of Stock.  There is some very stiff competition out there these days.

Good luck with your future submissions 🙂

And this photo is also constantly rejeccted:

And also, I don't get it
* The lightning is good
* The phot is sharp at 100%

In this photo, it appears a shallow depth of field was used and the sharpness of the photo fades towards the right, leaving main components of the photo blurry.  I don't think the DoF issue can be fixed with editing.

Although the histogram is correct, the contrast and colors appear flat to me.  I think some dehazing and contrast/saturation adjustments would add some depth.

I think re-taking this photo with different lighting conditions and a smaller aperture would be beneficial, although I would compare similar photos first before investing more time on this one.

Good luck!
