Question

Rejections for quality issues

Out of a batch of 9 photos recently submitted, six were accepted and three were rejected: two for quality issues and one for similar content. I am looking for specific feedback on the quality rejections, since all 9 images were similarly processed and should be fairly consistent.

Plus, I am concerned about my acceptance rate on Adobe Stock, which is consistently lower than the other two stock sites to which I contribute (Shutterstock and iStock, both of which accepted all nine of the images).

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Hello,

Have thought much about your white balance? I think you could also tweak that a bit.

Maybe you have higher sales on the other stock sites, because they offer a lower price. Are you uploading the same content on both platforms? If so, you are shooting yourself in the foot!

scone00019-Enhanced-NR-Edit.jpg - underexposed and very little is in focus due to the overly shallow depth of field

=============

Adobe Stock has higher quality standards than other microstock services. Adobe also pays higher royalty fees.

I'm of the personal opinion that the content you submit to Adobe Stock should be your best work & different from what you submited to other services.   Competing with yourself diminishes the value of your work.  As  a customer, why would I use Adobe Stock if I can get the same content from other services?

Just my 2 cents.

While Adobe is not the lowest paid, it is still not the highest paid. It might be the platform with the most downloads, I'm not sure yet. I need more time to evaluate that. Each platform has their unique market. Not many of the files that get sold on Adobe will sell on other platforms and many top selling files on Adobe are not top sellers on other platform. Adobe is the platform I get the highest rejection rate and many files that Adobe rejects get sold on the other platforms. Hence, in general the value of files do not reduce when you submit to multiple platforms if you choose the platforms wisely.

Best wishes

Hi,

I think the Images are a bit to dark (underexposed). The Composing and Idea overall should be IMHO fine. Hope that helps.

Hi @mcintopia ,

This is a nice closeup. The first file has luminance and chromatic noise. This is visible on the tin inside. Also it is a bit underexpose.

The second file is also underexposed. While what I say next might not contribute to this file refusal it is essential to maximize your sale. You could have improved the second file's composition by including the point of the slice in the main plate in the photo frame.

Best wishes
