Seamless Pattern - Non-Compliant?

Hi!

I submitted some seamless patterns I create manually, without any generative AI use. A first one was rejected and I’d like to fix the problem!

I test each and every one to make sure it repeats seamlessly before uploading, they’re 2700x2700px at 300dpi.

‘’Possible reasons:

- Non compliant use of another artist’s name.

- Undeclared Generative AI Content.

- Content not compliant with overall guidelines’’

I named it Seamless Robin's Egg Blue Gingham Pattern. Only thing I could see being a problem is the textured overlay I add as a last step.

I’m not sure what is wrong with the file! If anyone has feedback, it would be appreciated.

Simple assets that anyone can create lack commercial value.
Many Adobe Stock users are designers, and they can create simple assets themselves.

@SakiDesjardins focus on something unique. Sounds like you may have assets that are uniquely yours.
There is no point in just changing the colour of something that is a common everyday pattern.

is that pattern vector or raster, if it’s vector, then it has more value , there is nothing wrong with creating simple checkered pattern , I get most of my sales from simple blender patterns not the complex ones, but they are all vector, I think the pattern was rejected because you put a trademark word in the keywords or may be the overlay you created made the system detected as ai content

    Hi @SakiDesjardins ,

I believe it is the use of the word “Gingham” that causes the refusal. Although it is primarily a lightweight woven cotton and is not copyrighted, it is also a rare surname of people living in the USA and other countries. It would have been better to say “Checkered”. You can make that adjustment and resubmit your artwork. You’ll also need to remove gingham from the keyword section.

    Best wishes

Gingham is generic for light colored plaid or checkerboard patterned fabric.

Stock has lots & lots of examples.

Thank you for that link. Except someone erred in thinking that that word is the issue, there is nothing I see in that submission to trigger the refusal stated..

Don’t waste your time correcting this. You’ll never find a buyer for it.

This is what you’re competing with in Stock plus millions more on free sites.

I’m sorry if this seems harsh, but I feel it’s best to be honest & up front with you. You’ll need to elevate your content to more sophisticated levels if you want to compete in this space.

Stock customers are looking for commercial quality artwork to use in professional projects. They won’t pay for assets they can create themselves with two mouse clicks in Photoshop.

Read your Stock Contributor User Guide for more tips on what’s expected.

    Good luck.

I do have plenty of unique designs to upload, but I sell these as coordinates with my main patterns and illustrations so I thought it would be a good thing to add them. I’ll focus on unique designs instead.

Thanks for including the link to the User Guide, for some reason it seems to be a different page than the one I had found.

I think the problem is the 8x8 checker board square style. It might be considered public domain. All you did was change the color on the design.

The noncompliant problem could be use of trademarked keywords.

Make them unique designs. Always check inventory first to see if Stock needs it.

The 2nd most common refusal reason is for “similar content.”

    Hope that helps.
