Question

Similar content rejected but not at all similar

Hello everyone.
Let's get straight to the point! Several pieces of content I submitted to Adobe Stock were rejected because they were deemed similar to other pieces. However, I actually checked the other pieces for relevance by uploading the same rejected photos to Adobe Stock. I examined all the pages, even hundreds of pages, and for some photos, I didn't find any similar content to what I submitted. They might be the same subject, but not the same idea or the same colors. So I'd like to fully understand the reason for the rejection.
Thank you very much for your attention.

Hello. I am facing exactly the same problem. I am trying to create a collection of different images, but on the same topic. They are not similar. But Adobe Assistant keeps rejecting these images as "similar". I do not understand how other people create their image collections here?

Limit your submission to 3 of the very best assets from the same series. If they are all accepted, you can submit 3 more later.  Adobe Stock prefers slow & steady over a barrage of assets from the same series.

After a week of having one or two assets per day rejected for being too similar, I've had 9 acceptances within a 12-hour period (and no rejections). I was relatively certain those 9 assets would also be rejected, as they are similar to previously rejected assets that I generally submit and that are well-represented throughout the database. Excluding rejections for similar assets, I have just over a 98% acceptance rate. With similar rejections included, I've dropped to a 93% acceptance rate (actually, less, if I include rightfully rejected assets due to quality issues).

In other words, I don't bother researching in advance for similar assets prior to submission because there is simply no point. Both unique AND similar assets can be rejected for being too similar, and similar assets can be accepted or rejected. I guess it depends on what mood the algorithm is in during the review process. But that's just silly. As I have often suggested, the issue is possibly the result of titles and keywords. As such, I usually try to void using common keywords, like those suggested by Adobe Sensei, or I place them at the bottom of my keyword list. I also try to keep those common keywords out of my titles. The trick is to still use keywords that a buyer is most likely to use when searching for assets. Straying too far from the actual subject is not likely to lead to sales if buyers are unlikely to use the keywords chosen to represent the asset.

Another possibility is that I'm totally off base and the decision to reject assets for being too similar is totally random. But that's not likely, either. In short, we have no idea what method is being used and, as such, I don't bother looking to see if similar assets are already in the database. Were I to do that, I would never have submitted the 9 recently accepted assets.

In short, carry on as if nothing has changed, even though everything has.

So, I also receive waste and acceptance, as for example I had the refusal of a photo and 24 acceptance of the same series in one fell swoop. But my perplexity was mainly on the fact of seeing me refused images that are actually not similar to others in the collection. As for the fact of checking that the forum is populated by users who are not of assistance this I had already noticed. But since I can't contact the assistance, I hoped that someone on the forum knew how to answer me. But apparently we all sail in the darkness

" But since I can't contact the assistance"

You can contact contributor support (many have), but you will receive a standard response that basically just acknowledges receipt of your email.

None of us fully understand the reasons for similars rejections. Many of us have experienced unwarranted rejections, and Adobe remains silent on their internal processes resulting in those rejections.

If you would take the time to read what others have recently reported about this rejection reason, you would see that we are not Adobe employees and we have not been informed by Adobe what has changed and why the rejection so often occurs. We have posted our thoughts on the subject and have given tips as to how you might be able to reduce the rejections.
