Question

Skipping the line

Hey, all!

Just curious...

I have images that are nearly two weeks old waiting for approval. I do understand that the reviewers are swamped.

That said, yesterday, five of my images (variations on a theme) got approved, even though they were only 2 days old.

Do the reviewers pluck out images that are in high demand? Why did these images "skip the line"?

Thanks!

Thanks for reporting this.

As we currently have not more information, we need to stick with the offical statement: assets are vetted in the order they get submitted.

But we have got, even before, reports that this is not always the case. This has been explained with different approval layers. Not all moderators are checking the same topic. I know that there is a group of moderators looking into potential IP violations, and I suppose that there are still others looking into releases. I think that the moderation process is not as straight as shown, but that it is a complex operation.

It may be, that there is a change in the approval process to address the backlog, but it may also simply be that this is a one time glitch, where simply a moderator got attributed an asset, that was not the next in the queue.

Two days is my experienced moderation time for vector assets and photos with no IP trouble or no model/property release attached.

Maybe Stock hired more reviewers.

Or maybe you got lucky.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.  Be happy. 🙂

Oh, I'm definitely happy, and I didn't mean this to come across as anything but.

I'm just curious why they grabbed 5 very recent images over the 2 weeks worth of backlog I've built up.

Were the accepted assets photographs or Generative AI? Generative AI and other Illustrations are now all apparently in the same queue which has a backlog of more than a month. Photographs continue to be moderated quickly, usually less than 5 days. Accepted wisdom is that assets are moderated on a FIFO basis, however lately we've been hearing of more instances where they're taken out of sequence. No doubt Adobe has been juggling that massive backlog to figure out how to get through them in a reasonable period of time, including throttling the number of assets that a Contributor can have under review at any one time.

These were all AI images. In fact, the images that "skipped the line" were generated watercolors.

The exact method Adobe uses to review assets is a mystery to us.  More or less, assets are reviewed as they are received.  But I've heard of a few circumstances like this where it seems that an exact first in first out may not be the case.

I can think of many reasons for this, but it would only be speculating.  There are around 29,000 Adobe employees, who knows how many people are on the asset review team or exactly how assets get assigned to each person.

Imagine if an asset needs a second opinion or to needs to get a supervisor approval for something that is on the fence as an example.  I can't imagine that holds up the line.  Perhaps assets are assigned in blocks and some reviewers are more efficient than others.

Again, these are fictitious scenarios I've dreamt up.  But I think similar scenarios are plausible.

Cheers!

Are some of them AI? Some images? Some Photos?

All AI.
