If I submit images that should be photos as illustrations, will I get BANNED from Adobe?

No. But it's best to avoid doing the opposite.

No, and that's the safe approach to take. It's better to submit your AI images with file type "illustrations" rather than file type "photos" unless you are certain that they are truly photo-realistic.
