Submitting video to Adobe Stock

I want to submit 4K video for stock. The only accepted format 4K/UHD codec is ProRes, an apple only codec. I use Adobe's Premiere Pro on Windows 10. PP and media encoder do not support ProRes on Windows.

Does this mean I cannot submit 4K video unless I purchase an Apple workstation to encode it?

Or am I misunderstanding?

Hey Mat,

Thanks for responding, Perhaps I did a poor job of communicating my concern:

The Doc you mention was what I was referencing when I asked the question. I read it over a few times since I was incredulous that Adobe would so limiting. And that Adobe's own products, Premiere Pro & Media Encoder, would be unable to produce ProRes on the OS with, by far, the largest installed base.

I know that Apple aggressively protects ProRes to the point that any software maker that produces a solution to output ProRes on a Windows machine is lawyer-ed into oblivion.

I'm asking why Adobe doesn't accept a 4K format that can be produced without an OSX workstation?  Getty prefers ProRes but accepts other 4K formats.

Perhaps I am misreading the Doc you mention: That's why I'm asking for clarification. I've been an Adobe user (customer) since the early 90's, and a stockholder as well, I'm trying to understand why Adobe Stock is shooting itself in the foot. Or?

You can output several 4K codecs that are not pro res from a PC.  These include H.264, MJPEG, and PNG.  For further questions specific to video, please contact the video content team at stockvid@Adobe.com.
