When I read "25,000 + perpetual download" what does it mean?

User Parradee has 25,000 (and more) download "every day"? or "in a year"?

I think "perpetual downloads" means the total accumulated downloads since the inception of the account. On the insights page, click the link "how it works" for more info.

So if I change the question and I ask you all:

how many downloads "in one day" based on the "entire stock of images in our portfolio" are necessary for us to consider ourselves:

Still a beginner (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Adobe contributor with mediocre success (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Adobe contributor with moderate success (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Adobe contributor with good success (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Adobe contributor with great success (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Adobe contributor with extraordinaty success (range from ____downloads to _____downloads)

Thank you

Same answer.  It depends on your goals and overall business strategy.

5 downloads a year and 50,000 downloads a year could both be considered a success, depending on a variety of factors.

1 image is not enough data to be meaningful.  Most portfolios contain a mix of heroes & zeros.

Look at your total earnings for the quarter & compare that with prior earnings to measure your progress.

Also buying habits fluctuate by season & trends.  Keep your portfolio fresh with new content.

To me, success is a hard thing to measure with Stock.  It depends on what your goals are I suppose.  Short term goals are different from long term goals for instance.  And for me creating assets that I care about and I'm passionate about is more important than creating assets that are top sellers.  Stock also isn't the only outlet for my photos, so making sure they are multipurpose for me is crucial.

For instance, my current best seller across all platforms was a request from a friend to shoot a particular scene, and the friend wasn't a fan of it.  I submitted it before the pandemic and it didn't sell at all for several years, and now I'm getting a fair amount of activity on the photo.  In 2022 I would have said the photo wasn't a success at all, but here we are 2 years later and it has sold many times over.

I hope that perspective helps some!
