Sudden Changes in Adobe Stock Review: Speed and Similarity Issues

Hello, I would like to ask about some recent changes I have noticed.

  1. Review speed – Why has the review speed suddenly slowed down recently? It used to be faster, but in the past few days it seems to take much longer.

  2. Similarity rejection – Previously, when I uploaded images, they were not rejected for being too similar, and I am confident that my images have distinct differences. However, in the past few days, images with a similar style and content have been rejected with the message that there are already similar images in the stock. Could you please explain why this change is happening, and what I can do to avoid such rejections in the future?

Thank you very much for your help!

What is "recent"?

At certain times, moderation was instantaneous, and if a picture hung for a week, you would ask support. Then the waiting time approached 3 months+, now it is 8 weeks by default. The moderation time fluctuates depending on the situation.

As for the similarity rejection, nobody currently knows what exactly triggers it. We only know that Adobe is happy with their system. That's it.

Assets are randomly assigned to the next available Reviewer in the talent pool.

When Reviewers aren't available, submissions remain in the wait queue until a Reviewer becomes available.  It's always worked that way.

Review times can vary from one contributor to another. This has been the case for quite some time. Adobe also made an announcement recently that assets found to be similar to other assets found in the database will be rejected. An algorithm might be making this call, possibly related to titles and keywords. Unique images sometimes get rejected. Similar images sometimes get accepted. There appears to be no real logic involved in this decision-making process. Welcome to the new normal.
