I've just signed up and it's asking for tax information but I live in the UK and not the US. Does this still apply?

Yes you need to send in tax information as described on the web site. As the UK has a tax agreement with the USA, you will not be taxed by the US tax agency but to be able to do that, you need to fill in some forms.
