The Future of Photo Content Creation in Connection with AI

I've been creating photo and video content for Adobe Stock for a long time. I read a lot of articles and news about the use of AI. I'm not sure if it makes sense to create real, vibrant photos for stocks, or if AI will quickly take over. This is quite alarming, since stocks are my main source of income.

Newcomers often have the mistaken idea that AI can replace human talent.  It can't.  AI makes too many mistakes that only humans can see & correct.

AI is just another tool like pens & brushes in the artist's workbox. Tools don't make great artwork, people do.  😁

Do what you do best. But feel free to challenge yourself & experiment. There's plenty of room for artists who draw, paint, collage, photograph, videograph, and use AI enhancement tools.

Finally, don't be nervous.  Photoshop didn't put old-school graphic artists out of business. It simply changed how we work. The same will happen with AI.

I am certain that there will always be a demand for real photographs of real people and real places taken with a real camera. I have been an Adobe stock Contributor for more than 9 years and submit only real photographs from my travels around the world. My sales have not declined in spite of the fact that AI assets now represent nearly 50% of Adobe's database.

Thanks for the reply! 80% of my content is product photography, food, and drinks. I also include landscapes, people, and specific locations. Food photos can now be generated by AI and are practically indistinguishable from real photos. I don't know how long people will continue to buy photos. It seems like right now everything is limited by usage laws, but it's unclear how this will change in the future.

Greetings! First and foremost... Everyone has an opinion on your question, and the truest answer to it, yet to be seen.  Wnen Adobe sends emails about the power of AI, I am BLOWN away with the quality and creativity they share from creators.

When I go to adobe stock buyer's portal, AI content clearly shows dominance...

I think it's fairly universal to say that AI is changing the world, and is here to stay.  Tha AI content will continue to advance... and that's where my personal views stop. Must of the AI content has reach the point of too predictable, freaky perfect and stale...

And I bet that marketing managers are beginning to have fatigue over AI content, and studies been done as we chat, about the effectiveness and damage over using fake content for marketing.

Ofcoure I am not saying that like ilustrations, AI content will always have a place. But, it is my very personal believe Adobe will always give big priority to great photos and videos, which is what I do, will continue to do, and gives me 100x more satisfaction than typing AI promts on my screen for hours, only to end up with an image that looks it was created by a single individual.

Play with AI, if you enjoy it, definitely do more, if it doesn't, I feel pretty confident photographty and video will have a resurgence as buyers get over the fad of freaky perfect fake content.

Cheers!
