Theft, hacking, stollen of my Adobe Stock Contributor account

Hello Dear Adobe Community,

 

My name is Alicja and I have a big problem. Maybe some of you had a similar and can help me. Someone hacked into my email address and Adobe Stock Contributor account. The hacker changed of course my email address - Adobe ID and phone number. I lost access to my Adobe Stock Contributor account. I asked Adobe for help via the contact form. I sent also to contributor-support@adobe.com files confirming, that i am owner of my Adobe Contributor account. I sent also my account registration confirmation. The thief changed my account settings and i can't log in. My recovery phone doesn't work too. A similar situation happened with my Shutterstock Contributor account. Fortunately, Shutterstock Contributor care helped me immediately get my account back. Adobe doesn't respond. Adobe chat tells me "you need to crate a new account" ha ha ha. 10 years of cooperation, 17,000 photos and I should create a new account and leave the other one to the thief? There must be some way to get my account back. I thing, that Adobe can definitely do this. Other microstocks reacted and helped me immediately! What's up with this Adobe!!! Do they only care about selling subscriptions?

On this community forum, the only practical remedy we can recommend is that you contact Adobe Stock Contributor Support which You've already done.  The reply may take several weeks to come through, but a reply will likely come.  And Contributor Support will only happen via email, the chatbox is for customer support and not for contribitor support so I would wait for the contributor support to reply for the best advice.

 

Edit: @Abambo is right, if your entire Adobe ID has been taken over the Customer Support is the right point of contact.  Cheers!

There is no way, I know, to take over a contributor account. You need to take over the Adobe ID. And the Adobe ID can only be managed by Adobe customer support and creating a new ID is not an option.

I had no access to my email address for several days. The hacker ordered delete my hacked email address, but after my intervention, the operator stopped the process. When I got back my email adress, could no longer log in using it. So, I thought, that hacker probably changed my ID or hmm maybe my ID just deactivated while my email was inactive? That's happened for exampel on Depositphotos, that the email address has been deactivated.

This has been reported before. As your contributor account is linked to your Adobe ID, you will need to get back your Adobe ID. Adobe customer service should assit you in that quest. If chat tells you to create a new account, you need to respond that that is not an option. The proposal is a no go for customer service IMHO.

 

When the e-mail got changed, you got alerted by e-mail of that, and the message said, you should contact customer service for that. 

 

Adobe customer care can be contacted by beginning a secure chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen. Pop-up blockers need to be disabled, you need to accept cookies! If the chat window fails to open, or is non-responsive, use a different device and/or browser to start the interaction.

Important: Adobe does NOT contact you unsolicited by e-mail or direct message. If you get contacted by direct message from a person, claiming to be an Adobe employee, look at that profile and check if they bear the “Adobe Employee” marking under their name. Adobe support does not use Skype to give you support.
If in doubt, ask the forum.

(BTW: you should not use the same password for each account, and you should really enable two factor authentication were possible)

Thank you for answer. As i said, my email adres was hacked. That email adres was my Id in Adobe contributor. If I try log in, system informing me, that this account don't exist. When my email adres was hacked, hacker changed the password and ordered the email address deleted. I had no access to my email address for several days, but I got it back. Unfortunately, access to the Adobe account using this email address doesn't work. So, hacker changed my ID and that's fact. When it happened, I received an SMS iforming me, that the password and security settings of my Adobe account had been changed. If it's not me, I should contact support. Thank you for help. I'll try everything.

The much bigger question here is how did someone get access to your Adobe log-in ID and password if you didn't give it to them? 

 

  • Is your computer secure? 
  • Is it password protected?
  • Are you using the latest anti-theft, anti-spyware, anti-virus & firewall software? 
  • Do you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled on all your accounts?

 

Until you're certain you have plugged all security holes on your end, I don't see much point in creating a new Adobe log-in ID and password as it will likely get breached again.
