Unlicensed Photo use on social media - what to do?

Hi, I have two questions,

1 - If I create a photo, put it on Adobe Stock. Can I still then use it on my Facebook Page? Or are there requirements I need to fulfill?

2 - If I create a photo, put it on Adobe Stock, and someone somehow uses it on their Facebook page without a license, What should I do? / What can I do?

You can use your own assets or sell them as you wish. If you fond unlicenced use, you can and should take care yourself. But be careful, you do not know, if it is unlicensed use.

If I found someone using my images (which at times I have), I either ignore it or send a request to remove it or at least give proper credit if I can find a way to contact that person. Those are personal use cases, however. If I found someone using one of my images commercially, I would first send a cease and desist request. If not removed, it might be time to contact a lawyer.

Buyers are not required to provide attribution on images that they've licensed from Adobe Stock, unless it's an Editorial image. So, before you start hounding someone or starting legal proceedings, check first to ensure that it's not as asset that has been licensed on Adobe Stock.

Most of the unlicensed uses won't be seen by a large public. I've seen multiple unlicenced used of stock images in PowerPoint presentations. I normally make a remark to the presenter, so that at least they feel somehow embarrassed. I also hunted down this misuse in my company, as I'm aware that copyright claims could be costing you a fortune. For the same reason, we did forbid our copy service to copy whole books. BTW: The manpower alone to make these copies costs more then buying that book again.
