User with Adobe AI generated footage is cross selling to Shutterstock in violation of their AI rules.

One of my clients sent me stock footage from Shutterstock that was AI generated in Adobe Firefly, as they are cross selling the same footage on both platforms in violation of Shutterstock’s policy. The footage itself is terrible quality with doubled frames every couple frames as if they added a pulldown from 24p to 30p. I am sick and tired of having to deal with this poor quality stock by hack users, as I had to output an image sequence just so I could remove the random double frames. I have reported the user on Shutterstock and I’m reporting them here too:

Shutterstock account with Firefly generated footage

Same profile on Adobe Stock:

The saddest thing is knowing how much of other users (and my own) 3D work has been absorbed by these generators who just spit out slop based on 30 years of dedication and discipline honing a real craft. I wish corporations were more ashamed of their absolute piracy.

    Just to clarify, cross-selling assets on different platforms is not a violation of Stock’s Contributor TERMS.  Adobe does not claim exclusive rights to content uploaded by Contributors.

    I just tried both of your links. Your link to Shutterstock now shows a 404 error, so it’s possible that they removed the account after your complaint. 🙂

    Just for an FYI, your Adobe link only showed three images for me until I realized that it had honored my filter to hide Generative AI.

    See this page for Adobe’s ethical approach to generative AI:

    Not this tired old link again...I am never going to fall for Adobe’s “ethics” proclamation after they clearly tried to circumvent our data protections through their previous ToS debacle. I don’t know what kind of draconian NDA’s their employees have to stomach, but I can’t see how anyone can continue to point at disaster PR spin statements to suggest their practices are (now) ethical in any way.

    Oh, and yes! It does look like Shutterstock got wise. Unfortunately this is only one less AI skill stealing, slop footage generating person in a sea of lowlifes.

    @jackthegiantkiller,

    This user-to-user Contributor community is NOT moderated by Adobe.  Nobody here can help you with an IP violation.

    You must file a formal DMCA removal request along with documented proof of your claim below.

    https://www.adobe.com/legal/dmca.html

    Obviously, Adobe has no control over what Shutterstock does. That’s an entirely separate matter that you must pursue directly with Shutterstock.

    Hope that helps.

    It is against Shutterstocks policy. Therefore, Shutterstock should be informed.

    Oh I have informed them, but I’m at my breaking point with the slop Firefly creates that my clients choose because they don’t realize all the hoops I’m going to have to jump through just to make it functional in order to time stretch, as those double frames screw it up badly in After Effects. I have tried my hardest to inform my client but they are also at the mercy of their client who keeps picking this stuff.

    PS. this forum is so buggy, after I hit post the first time it just kept going back to asking me to repeat my question...over and over now realizing that I now have two or more posts. Great job!
