Question

What do you think of this new Community Platform?

It’s visually similar to the former one, but behaves differently.

I still don’t know what CONTROL is, or why every log-in attempt has failed so far.

PROS:

Lots of cool new emojis 🇬🇱 😎🎨

The code insertion tool is much improved.

<html>
<head>
<title>Testing...</title>
</head>
<body>
<div style="text-align: center; margin: auto;">
<br><br>
<?PHP print $message ?>
</div>
</body>
</html>

CONS:

Discussions are all non-threaded now. It’s not a deal-breaker, but threaded replies are easier to follow, IMO.

My saved screenshots & macros are nowhere to be found.😫

And there’s no HTML option for escaping out of blockquotes.

Not sure why we need a SPOILER (collapsing panel).

Your thoughts?

    Another problem is with file uploads. We are primarily asked to give advice on rejected assets. We instruct the contributor to upload the original file that was rejected so that we can accurately review it.
    The file upload or the photo insert only allows files < 5MB. Many files, especially photos, are larger.

    Old Private Messages are gone.

    Private Messages are limited to 10K characters and don’t allow images (screenshots).

    Mark as Spam: non-functional, use the Report function to let Adobe moderators know.

    I’m doing the same for posts that need to be moved to other forums.

    One problem I am having is that the post titles remain bold. I cannot distinguish between posts that I have viewed and which posts are new and need review.

    Agreed, visited links should be less prominent.

    For now, I’m looking at number of replies and dates/times of last activity.

    I cannot say as yet. I’m just feeling around. I too cannot access the “Control”. I’m getting incorrect password.

    So far, I notice some moderation restriction.

    Regards

    As far as I can tell, almost all moderation is null.

    Reporting spam causes errors.

    Can’t move posts to other product forums.

    Can’t remove irrelevant Tags from posts.

    Can’t edit Titles or sensitive info from Posts.

    Its a bit confusing. But I guess I’ll just have to get use to it. Hopefully some features will eventually come back like translation, spell check and such. Still looking for a few things like some old PM messages but I suppose they might be permanently gone. Oh well. 😑

    PS

    I see there’s still a few bugs to get rid of.

    Oh there’s that translate button. It wasn’t there a second ago. Hummm

    Translate appears to be working, thankfully.

    My browser’s spell-check add-on (LT Basic) works without any problems.

    You didn’t get the notice yet? LT is going premium only. They’re recommending QuillBot for those who still want a free alternative.

    I’m not ready to vote yet… it’s different and requires a change in my reading/posting habits. I’m not getting email alerts for all new posts - maybe something I’m doing wrong.

    Meanwhile, I just received an email saying, “Your post has received a new replay” on a Forum I haven’t posted to as yet. At least I don’t think I have. Things seem...hidden.

    Well...it’s pretty. :) I don’t consider myself much of a power user as some are, so I’m feeling my way around without too many issues compared to other’s noting issues. I HATE the email notification layout. Weren’t we able to see the ENTIRE content of a post instead of being cut off? Not sure why I need to be told that I “might be interested in this” in 50 pt. type. I mean, I must be, since I subscribed to the forum. And I’d rather read the text in the notifications in flush left paragraphs, not centered. And no subject line to click on to get to the post. I have to scroll down to click on the “View post” link. Which is weird, since to start a new post, one has to start with a subject before being sent to a new window to write the post itself. And with no subject line in the email, it’s difficult to tell what thread it’s going to be linked to. And why do we need to see this: “[This post contains formatting and embedded images that don't appear in email. View the post in your Web browser.] “ at the top of the email instead of at the bottom? Maybe that wouldn’t be so bothersome if the text of the post were smaller and in paragraph form. The overall experience is a little more tolerable on the Gmail website, so maybe it’s just an Apple Mail issue when it comes to font sizes. I can reduce the size of the text, but it reverts to being huge when I go to the next email.
